About Rioja - Langamay Sparks of Colour For Bordertrix

My little golden girl has been a perfect fit at Bordertrix, despite Flint being
less than impressed that another dog could possibly be cuter than him!
Rioja and Zenii are firm friends already and spend most of their time
together.
I will use this page to update Rioja's life story as it unfolds.

I am excited for our journey ahead which will see us attempting breed
showing, hoopers and agility. This girl certainly has the spark and speed for
learning and being competitive, she loves toys and treats so I will be using lots
of reward based training to ensure she remains happy and confident.

At 5 months Rioja had finally
learnt to stand still - for a few seconds
anyway. We continued to work hard to ensure she didn't attempt to head butt the judge, and then she qualified for Crufts 2026 at the Midland Border Collie Club in March 2025!
​Crufts is fast approaching so we have entered some open shows to remind her what she is doing. She is just so friendly to dogs and people, keeping her focused is going to be
challenging, we will enjoy
the journey regardless!

Everything about this girl is all I'd ever want in a border collie:
-
she looks stunning
-
has the drive and speed to be amazing at dog sports
-
is clear of all testable border collie health issues
-
has perfect hip and elbow scores and;
-
a beautiful temperament.
I plan for her to have puppies with Flint 2026/2027 to continue the Bordertrix line of versatile dogs - which border collies should be.

Rioja is amazing to train and picks things up super fast, also she's so affectionate and gives great cuddles.
Regardless of any results, I know she is a great ambassador for the border collie breed, both in health, structure and temperament, I know I am very lucky to have her.
